Amrita Online MBA Hosts AVISTA 2026 Conference on AI and the Future of Augmented Work

: Augmented Work, AI and Human Potential Amrita Online MBA, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham organised the inaugural edition of AVISTA - Amrita Virtual Innovation Summit for Transformative Administration on 15 June 2026. The online conference was conducted on the theme “Augmented Work: AI, Evolving Skills and Human Potential.” The Amrita Online conference was organised to create a platform for discussing how Artificial Intelligence is changing the workplace, human resource practices, leadership and employee capabilities. The important focus of the conference was to understand how AI can support human work and how organisations can prepare employees for the future.
The inauguration and keynote address were delivered by Mr. Sreekanth K Arimanithaya, CEO, Xarpie Labs; Managing Partner, Singularity University India; and Co-Founder of Mantrika.ai, Visara Partners and Texnere. In his address, he explained the idea of augmented work and highlighted that AI should not be seen only as a replacement for human beings. Rather, AI can be used as a tool to improve productivity, creativity, decision-making and organisational efficiency. A panel discussion was conducted on the topic “AI-Powered HR: Transforming Talent, Learning and Leadership.” The session was moderated by Dr. Lekha H, Assistant Professor, Senior Grade, Amrita Online MBA.
The panel members included Mr. Leela Prasad Rao, Senior People Consultant at EY and Startup Growth & HR Advisor; Mr. Madhavan B, Senior Director and Head HR – India, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia, ELCi Equipments Limited; and Ms. Sumi V Nair, Head HR, Averna India. The panel discussion focused on the emerging role of AI in recruitment, employee learning, performance management, leadership development and HR decision-making. The speakers discussed that AI can help HR teams to make faster and more data-based decisions. At the same time, they also emphasised that human judgement, empathy, fairness and organisational values should not be ignored. The discussion showed that the future of HR will depend on a proper balance between technology and human understanding. The afternoon workshop was conducted on “AI Capability Building for HR Team.” The session was handled by Mr. Saravanan Thangavel, Chief Consultant, Metley Human Capital Solutions and Certified Google AI Professional. The workshop gave participants hands-on experience with Generative AI in HR functions. Important areas such as prompt engineering, AI-assisted recruitment, job description preparation, candidate ranking, HR analytics and responsible AI use were discussed.
